Out on the town, safe in the crowd.

Musings of a:
Moderately-paced jogger.
Fast driver.
Caffeine enthusiast.
Adrenaline junkie.
Slow burner.

All these things that I’ve done.

Since graduation, I’ve managed to do the following things:

  • Establish a semi-cordial relationship with my cat. As in, she no longer hates me. At least not all the time.
  • Pay my first student loan bill
  • Teach my 4-year-old niece how to write “Happy Birthday” on a card for her mom
  • Trade in my malfunctioning Nissan Maxima for a Chevy Monte Carlo
  • Get published! Several times, actually. Shameless self promotion never hurts, so check out my piece on how the economy in Jacksonville and Florida adds up for 2010 in 904 Magazine by clicking here.
  • See The National live
  • See Surfer Blood live
  • See The Hold Steady live
  • See The Gaslight Anthem live (it’s been a good few months for music)
  • Learn how to make all sorts of concoctions as a bartender
  • Learn how to sell all sorts of moderately-priced hamburgers as a a server (I refuse to say where)
  • Get paid to take a road trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where boyfriend and I had dinner in a cornfield.
  • Become a regular attendee of the Art Walk (though I missed last night’s. Bummer!)
  • Discover the Riverside Arts Market
  • Rediscover how much I love Tuesdays at The Cummer.
  • Reaffirm my conviction that I want to get out of Florida asap.

Turns out, the last half of 2010 shaped up to be pretty great. And my favorite month of the year has finally arrived. So, here’s to a month of cold weather, hot cocoa, turning 22, celebrating family and friends, parties, silent nights, and maybe even a not-so-silent night or two or five thrown in for good measure.
